I will choose sadness over bitterness & pain over repression. Walls built with bitterness last a lifetime where as sadness seeks to be understood. Instead of walls I choose to build a better me.

I will not lock my heart away, especially when it's broken, to be left alone, "safe", especially with it's wounds so fresh and unattended.

The effervescent essence of living in the present is the joy in one's heart. Oh to be grateful and not hateful for the day full of all that could be. We grow from strife if we choose to live our life lest the “what could have been”s is the torch we light. To truly see you must understand there are no enemies, that it is the precepts we grieve as we hold on to the past. It is all in the thoughts that we entertain that we choose to place blame for every bridge we burn serves only to isolate all that we can become. Live on past the passer bys and those incapable of homage; for most their bridges are of ash. So live in the moment and not the past. Define yourself not by shadows cast. Worry not over future tasks and be only in the now for it is all we have: assuredly this was never meant to last so that we may build upon conservant.

Not all who are lost will wander, being lost leaves much to ponder
So I sit searching the unraveled for I take the road much less traveled
The dirty, the ugly, the dark, the grungy: leaves the foresight a little bit muddy
But truth be told I covet this mess, to defy all this makes me the best
It's not about being better than you but merely finding my personal truth
What truly is it that makes me tick, dissolves the facade to be transparent
I have drowned in the dredges and been trampled in trenches
Each choice that I make makes me that much more relentless
To live my best life even put through the paces
Cause I'll do more than survive when I learn to face this

Are you able to let go - give up the status quo and embrace the pace to isolate and come to know the unadulterated you alone? It is when we are free of the impositions of all society and reflect within thee that we understand our paths of destiny. I can not thank him enough for the wonderful gift of that evening. The conversation was the best, lunch was amazing, and the portrait ever so inspiring.
