A certified sexologist has completed 500 hours of formal training in human sexuality. A sexologist with a Masters or Doctorate has completed more than 3000 hours of formal training. A sexologist views human sexuality from a multi-disciplinary, systemic, and multi-faceted perspective. As a sexologist, I study sex. I study people’s sexual behaviors, feelings, and interactions. It is my job to help people learn about their sexuality, become more comfortable with it, and feel good about expressing themselves sexually. Sexology is the scientific study of sex. It is an interdisciplinary field that encompasses the areas of psychology, sociology, medicine, anthropology, biology, and more.
